After years of working in real estate, two Dallas brothers have formed a new family venture to focus on backing creative, urban, mixed-use spaces starting in their hometown.
Evan August and Jordan August co-founded August Real Estate Co. after the pair recently unveiled plans to restore and renovate two family-owned buildings in Deep Ellum, a hip neighborhood just east of downtown Dallas. August Real Estate Co. is repositioning more than 100,000 square feet of space comprising the Continental Gin Building, built in 1988, and a three-story, 36,000-square-foot building at 333 1st Ave. in Dallas.
"We want to build out a portfolio and redevelop assets that are going to be long-lasting family investments benefiting future generations," said Evan August, a former real estate investment broker for Eastdil Secured, in an interview. "These properties are a good example of what we will do in the future."
