August Real Estate plans to convert the former Trunk Club building into offices.

A family real estate company that has redeveloped a Deep Ellum landmark is working on plans for a second project in the neighborhood just east of downtown.

Dallas-based August Real Estate Co. has been redeveloping the more than century-old Continental Gin building on Elm Street near Baylor University Medical Center for more than a year. The brick-and-timber manufacturing building, built in 1888, has been converted into office and retail space.

Now, August Real Estate is working on plans to redevelop the three-story former Trunk Club building at 333 First Ave. on the edge of Deep Ellum near Fair Park.

The 32,382-square-foot commercial building was built in 1926 and remodeled into loft-style business space. It most recently housed operations for Trunk Club’s men’s apparel sales operation.
